• (1) Vitamins A, C, D and the trace elements copper, iron, selenium and zinc support the normal function of the immune system.
• (1) There is a greater need for vitamin C during and after intense physical exercise to maintain normal immune system function. The positive effect is achieved with a daily intake of 200 mg in addition to the recommended daily dose of vitamin C, which is 80 mg for adults.
• (2) Vitamins A, B2 (riboflavin), niacin and biotin contribute to the maintenance of normal mucous membranes. Healthy mucous membranes are effective protective shields against invading pathogens or chemical compounds in the lungs, nose and intestines.
